10 Things We Want To See In Peter Jackson's Upcoming Beatles Documentary

2. Recording Of Across The Universe

Given how much frustration went into the recording of this song, it's a shame John Lennon was never completely satisfied with "Across the Universe." While the actual version on the album is slightly out of tune, it's hazy atmosphere is absolutely beautiful for what it is.

Though the final product may be a bit on the rough side, it would be interesting to see how it got into the final state it was in. It has been well-documented about the multiple productions of the track, but it would make for a good cinematic moment to see Lennon painfully slaving in the recording booth trying to manifest the sound he heard in his head. There is also a version of the song that apparently features Beatles fans that were pulled off the street, which is something that almost feels like it needs to be seen to be believed.

McCartney was known to belabor a song until it was just where he wanted it to be, so the thought of his freewheeling writing partner taking the same kind of approach is something that many hardcore Fab fans would not want to miss. The recordings may have been ramshackled, but the recording of "Across the Universe" could show the jagged beauty that came to fruition.
