10 Things We'd Love To See In Star Trek Into Darkness Sequels
7. Klingon Battle Scenes
We've yet to really see the might of the Klingons in the new universe. Sure, they chased down Kirk and threatened Uhura. They had a brief encounter with Khan, but were rapidly defeated making them seem weak. Considering that in The Original Series the Klingons were the primary enemy of Starfleet, this poor showing deserves to be remedied. Into Darkness was riddled with hints and nods towards the seemingly inevitable war with the Klingon Empire, and given the actions of Kirk on the Klingon home world it would not be surprising if this war soon ensues. The chase between Mudds shuttle and the Birds of Prey in Into Darkness showed that the Klingon ships have been altered to fit this universe slightly, and the updated Klingon look deserves to be shown within its savagery. War with the Klingons is probably the likeliest plot for the third sequel, and given the high profile of the Klingon threat in Into Darkness it seems that war will happen. Admiral Marcus, who had masterminded the attempt to speed up the onset of war was defeated, so perhaps war will be avoided and a new villain will be facing the crew. The plot of the third film is still unclear, and with Abrams off directing Star Wars VII the direction of this franchise may shift to one which does not adhere to the events of the conventional timeline.
