5. A Guinan Cameo

Whoopi Goldberg was arguably at the height of her career when she guest starred on Star Trek: The Next Generation as Guinan. She played a bartender from an alien species that lived for centuries and were renowned for their listening abilities. This role meant she was often on the receiving end of moans, groans and general grumblings by the crew of the Enterprise. In the movie Star Trek: Generations she is shown to have interacted with some of the crew from The Original Series after being saved by the Enterprise B. This means she was clearly alive within the canon at this time, and would make for an interesting link to The Next Generation within this new universe. She claims to have sought out the cameo after being inspired by Nichelle Nichols on the original series. As she wishes to be seen as an inspiration for a different generation it would be amazing to have Guinan guest star, even for a 2 minute conversation, within this new universe. Again, fans of the TV series would be elated by this, and new viewers would see only a famous cameo. It would not need to reference her future role, but it would be a nice link to the original timeline within a universe that is rapidly becoming action based and explosive filled.
