10 Things You Didn’t Know About Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade

3. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Was Not A Rolls-Royce Phantom

Car fans would have been annoyed when the Sultan of Hatay was given a Rolls-Royce Phantom in exchange for military supplies, pointing out "it's actually a Rolls-Royce Barker Saloon I think you'll find!"

The Barker Saloon was otherwise known as the Rolls-Royce 20/25. It was produced between 1929 and 1936, and surprisingly around a third of them are still on the road today.

Regardless of the car, the specifications are all off as well. The model in the film can apparently do 0-60mph in 12.5 seconds, when both models wouldn't even get up to 50 in that time. The horsepower is stated at 30 when the actual Phantom would only achieve half that, whereas the 20/25 would reach 25bhp at most. It's also stated in the film that the Phantom has a 4.3 litre engine, when the real one is 7.7.

You would think that big time car enthusiast George Lucas, and even the man who played the Sultan - car enthusiast Alexei Sayle - would know the difference.
