Running for as long as it has, A Nightmare On Elm Street has obviously racked up some serious coin over the years. Accruing more than $630 million total, Elm Street might have had highs and lows in terms of its quality, but that golden glow of box office revenue has never dimmed over the decades Freddy's been going.

And whilst this massive number is impressive all on its own, more so is that the original A Nightmare On Elm Street movie actually earned its budget back in just three days. Costing somewhere around $1.8 million to make, domestic release saw this come back to the franchise very quickly, with the movie as a whole earning a sweet $25 million total over its run.

The series is the third most profitable of all the big bads, coming close behind Halloween, and Friday the 13th in first place.
