If Felicity Jones seems familiar to a somewhat audience, meanwhile, it'll most likely be for her voice rather than her face. That's because, during all of this TV and film acting, she's also held down a steady role on yet another British institution. Her longest-running part was a starring role on the Radio 4 farming soap The Archers. Between 1999 and 2009 Jones was the voice of Emma Grundy, née Carter, a part which has since been taken over by Emerald O'Hanrahan. The daughter of the upwardly mobile white collar Carter family, Emma almost turned her parents against her as she chose to marry into the thoroughly working class Grundy clan. The Archers is impenetrable and inexplicable to anybody who hasn't already been won over by it much like most soap operas, on radio or otherwise but it's been going for years. At this point it is the world's longest-running radio soap opera production, clocking up 17,600 episodes since it debuted on 1 January 1951. Jones isn't the only star to find wider success, either, with sitcom and film actor Tamsin Grieg (Black Books, Green Wing) appearing as Debbie Aldridge.
