10 Things You Didn't Know About Fight Club

4. Some Instructions For Building Homemade Explosives Were Removed At The Request Of The L.A. Bomb Squad

One of the most memorable parts of Fight Club (if you happen to be an anarchist) occurs when Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) casually lists the ways to make napalm and nitroglycerine. What not a lot of people know, however (especially those folk who like to purport that "Fight Club contains instructions for making TNT"), is that the steps that Durden offers up as examples aren't entirely complete. That's to say, at the urging of the L.A. Bomb Squad, Fincher removed some of the steps to render them incomplete - just in case anybody decided to use Fight Club as an instruction manual for blowing stuff up in real life. Probably a good idea, because it seems a little bit insane that the original version of the movie actually gave audiences the real steps to creating both napalm and nitroglycerine in their unmitigated glory.
