It's sometimes difficult to imagine a huge Hollywood star was ever anything else, and yet there was a time in George Clooney's life when stepping up to the plate and playing baseball was more appealing to him than stepping in front of a camera. But given his family background it was perhaps inevitable that he'd end up taking the plunge into acting and set out on the path to becoming the huge star he is today. His father is the former journalist and television host Nick Clooney, he's the nephew of famous singer Rosemary Clooney and on top of that his cousin, Rosie's son, is the actor Miguel Ferrer. Ferrer recently announced his surprise when Clooney announced his upcoming marriage to Amal Alamuddin but promised to turn up when they married last week - it's doubtful the papparazzi paid him much attention once Brad and Angelina showed up.
