10 Things You Didn't Know About Inglourious Basterds

Want to know why it's spelt wrong? Well tough.

What does it mean Tarantino, WHAT DOES IT MEAN!? Who would have thought that replacing and removing some letters would give rise to such an infuriating question? Inglourious Basterds is as famous for its intentional misspelling of its two title words as it is for being a bloody good film. But don't let that burning question overshadow some of the other lesser-known aspects of the film, because there's rather a lot of them. Aside from the expected revelations that important characters in the film were originally intended to be performed by someone else, there's also some answers as to how strict Germany's film industry is when it comes to the portrayal of Nazi's on the big screen. If you're not content with that, how about the notion of 'Filmception' or that Inglourious Basterds is actually older than the Kill Bill films? As with all of Tarantino's films, repeated viewings always manage to reveal another small detail that you may not have noticed on previous occasions, and it's part of what makes the director's films so fun to watch again and again. So start flicking through this list at your leisure, and see if there's any entries here that you didn't already know - it would be a shock if there isn't at least one entry that's news to even the most hardcore of Tarantino fans.
