10 Things You Didn't Know About Jeepers Creepers

8. The Film Was Meant To Have A Different Ending

When Salva found out $1 million of his financing had fallen through, he was forced to cut and re-write a significant portion of the film, losing around twenty pages of the script from the ending.

The shooting schedule was also reduced from forty-two days to thirty-five. He was disappointed that he couldn't finish the film the way he wanted, and didn't like the way the creepy mysterious main part of the story had to suddenly turn into a more generic monster movie. The film ended very suddenly because there simply wasn't enough money to shoot his original vision.

A leaked original version of the script tells a very different ending, where Trish and Darry manage to escape the police station by stealing The Creeper's truck. He runs after them and hops on the truck before being decapitated by Trish. Headless, but still alive, he carries on trying to pull Darry out of the truck until Darry manages to drive it on to a railway track and they are hit by a train, causing the truck to explode and killing both of them.

Unfortunately this wasn't filmed and was only mapped out in story boards (page 1, 2 and 3). However, there were several other deleted scenes that didn't make it into the final version, including a cameo by the Director as one of the dead bodies in The Creeper's basement!
