1. Both Films Were Originally One Feature Called 'The Whole Bloody Affair'
For anyone who's a self-confessed Tarantino freak, this entry is something you probably already knew, but for everyone else who either forgot or wasn't old enough to watch the films when they first came out, this entry is probably (and hopefully) a revelation of sorts. Kill Bill Vol. 1&2 were originally filmed in conjunction with each other as one single film - that much is obvious. When the four-hour film débuted at the Cannes film festival in 2003, there was no reference to a Volume 1 in sight. Instead, the film appeared with the title Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, featuring both volumes as one, very long film. Concerns about length led the production company behind the films to split them down the middle into the two volumes we have today, but that hasn't stopped audiences from requesting a release of the original cut that Tarantino envisioned from the start. You'd think there would be little necessity in releasing both films as one single entity, but Tarantino has stated numerous times before that substantial amounts of footage were cut from both films as a result of the long running time. The director has also stated numerous times that he fully intends to release Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair to the public with the cut footage restored, but we're still waiting on that promise to come to fruition. We're sure it will happen eventually... Remember, hope is a good thing! Are there any interesting tidbits about the Kill Bill films that you know and aren't mentioned here?
