I Kissed a Girl was the first hit single by superstar pop sensation Katy Perry. Released in 2008, the catchy number went straight in at the top of the charts all around the world, including in places like the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany and New Zealand. While Perry has stated that the song was partially influenced by a girl she knew as a teenager - a girl who she really did kiss - it was also somewhat influenced by an attraction she had to Scarlett Johansson. Upon hearing about that, Johansson has been quoted as saying I had no idea I should get a cut and "That's flattering, but my lips are kind of taken."
