10 Things You Need To Know About J.J. Abrams' Superman: Flyby
8. Henry Cavill And Brandon Routh Both Auditioned
Some interesting news came out regarding Superman: Flyby this week. It turns out that the costume that was being developed for the film had a similar bent to the one eventually worn by Henry Cavill in Man Of Steel, with a Kryptonian armour design and a worrying lack of red trunks. Oh also, Henry Cavill totally wore that prototype costume. Because both he and Brandon Routh, who wound up playing Clark Kent in Bryan Singer's underwhelming Superman Returns, auditioned for the leading part in Flyby. In fact there seems to be very few men in Hollywood with dark hair and chiselled chins that weren't considered for the project, but it seems especially odd that the two men who have since played the character were considered. Especially because they hadn't done as much back then.
