This ones a biggie. Its a known fact that Adam Drivers Kylo Ren is not a Sith. He might wear black, wield a red lightsaber and control the dark side of the Force, but he doesnt boast the ceremonial title of Sith Lord that weve previously heard banded about in the original series and the prequel trilogy. This is why his name is Kylo Ren, not Darth Something. The exact reasons for this are unknown, but theres certainly plenty of room for a few logical assumptions. Perhaps, with the death of Darth Sidious and Darth Vader at the end of Return Of The Jedi, the structures and traditions of the Sith have been lost. Indeed, due to the old Sith stipulation that there should only be two practising Sith at a time a master, and an apprentice the fact that both Vader and Sidious died simultaneously poses something of a problem. How would the Sith live on? Well, maybe they dont. As far as we know, the two main villains of The Force Awakens are Supreme Leader Snoke and Kylo Ren. At the moment, neither of them have been identified officially as card-carrying members of Club Sith. They could well be something entirely new, with their own set of rules and beliefs.
