10 Things You Need To Know About Marvel's New Spider-Man

3. Spider-Man Will Only Be Making A Cameo Appearance In Civil War

In the Civil War comic book series, Peter Parker plays a pivotal role in the epic story. After being convinced by Iron Man to reveal his identity to the public, Spider-Man ends up switching sides and joining Captain America (after he was nearly killed by the villainous team known as the Thunderbolts who were acting under the orders of Tony Stark). Don't expect to see much - if any - of that in Captain America: Civil War though. Tom Holland is only expected to spend around a week on the set of the movie in Atlanta, and a number of reliable sources have described his role in the movie as being just a cameo. Though Marvel were always hoping to include Spidey, the script was completed before the deal with Sony was made, so it's unlikely that they would have completely retooled it to include him at such a late stage. Even the "Sony Hack" emails from last year indicated that Spider-Man's presence in Civil War would be small. Here's hoping that they make it count.
