10 Things You Need To Know About Marvel's Phase 3 Slate

4. Ant-Man's Transformation

As of right now, Ant-Man's future isn't set in stone. Last year, Marvel announced a Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel before the first instalment was even released, but that hasn't been the case for this pint-sized superhero. The movie had the second lowest opening for the studio ahead of only The Incredible Hulk, but still came in at #1 and has been doing respectable box office numbers ever since, so news of a follow-up surely can't be too far away. If and when a sequel does happen, it's clear that it will focus on the hunt for Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp who remains trapped in the Quantum Realm. Hopefully that won't end up overshadowing either Scott Lang's story or the new Wasp (Hope van Dyne), but it should still be interesting for us fans to see how a sequel tackles bringing back that character. Before that though, Ant-Man is going to show up in Captain America: Civil War. It doesn't sound like he has too big of a role based on comments from Paul Rudd about how long he spent on the Atlanta set, but there are a lot of very interesting rumours out there about what's going to happen. For starters, Scott is going to be wearing a modernised Ant-Man suit instead of Hank Pym's hand me down (but still very cool) costume from the 1960s. It also seems like Scott will once again be playing around with the suit's regulator because he's going to end up growing to Giant Man size during a battle with Iron Man and his pro-registration Avengers! That's going to be amazing to witness next year, but here's hoping he won't meet the same fate as the Goliath from the Civil War comic book. That would spell doom for an Ant-Man sequel after all...
