10 Things You Need To Know About Marvel's Phase 3 Slate

3. Captain America: Civil War Will Help Set Up Thor: Ragnarok

One of the biggest criticisms Avengers: Age Of Ultron faced was the time spent setting up Thor's next solo movie. The fact that so much of that was obviously cut made it feel a little nonsensical too which didn't exactly help, but it was clear by the end that the God of Thunder was returning to Asgard to try and figure out who has their sights set on the Infinity Stones. Ragnarok means the end of the Universe in Norse mythology, and the comic book version of the story ended with Thor and his fellow Asgardians among the stars and biding their time until they returned. There are those who believe that it's Thanos who Thor takes on in this movie, something which would make sense given that he's looking into the Infinity Stones. Regardless, Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) recently made the surprise revelation that there will be some set up for Thor: Ragnarok in Captain America: Civil War. Most of us had assumed that the God of Thunder's absence would be ignored in the movie - especially as Age Of Ultron made his intentions clear - but it definitely seems like he'll factor into this story somehow! That's interesting for a lot of reasons, and reaffirms just how important a movie Civil War is going to be to Phase 3.
