4. Miles Teller Struggled To Keep Up With Cruise
Even at the audition Teller was reportedly very nervous to perform in front of Cruise but he still managed to seal the deal! Teller trained a lot of the time with Cruise in an attempt to lean up for the role in the movie and make that 'volleyball' as iconic as it was before. While training Teller says he struggled to keep up with the 60-year-old but from what we've seen in the trailers, he managed just fine.
Not only did Teller spend months training his body for the role, but he actually learnt the piano piece that we will see. He apparently already knew how to play but in true Cruise apprentice-style, he performed his own piano scene in full with no body double.
The jets they filmed inside of were reportedly extremely hot while filming in the Arizona desert. So while you're watching the film and you see all of the actors, sat in real jets and doing real stunts, think about how you would cope if you were up there in the heat while having to act.
