10 Things You Only Notice Rewatching Snyder's DCEU Movies

9. Ace Chemicals

Batman V Superman ACE

Ace Chemicals is a huge part of Gotham City, the birthplace of both the Joker and Harley Quinn, and thus featured prominently in Suicide Squad, a DCEU movie but not a Snyder one. It’s also a big part of Shazam!, but again, that’s not a Snyder movie.

However, it first appears in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, where it was much more of a hidden detail. When Superman is being dragged along by the Kryptonite spear, we see it in the background. It shows Snyder’s world building at play in Gotham, even for a blink and you’ll miss it moment.

With Suicide Squad expanding on Ace, the worth of this little glimpse was diminished slightly. However, there’s still a pretty neat feeling seeing it in the background, even if we get more of it later.

One of the DCEU’s biggest failings to date has been around its struggles to tell a coherent story. Though having Ace Chemicals in the background is hardly the perfect example of stitching the world together, a bit more of this sort of thing might have gone a long way.
