Okay, so obviously a company that makes its money streaming movies isn't exactly over the moon that there are free, illegal alternatives available out there. Netflix, in fact, sees itself as a direct competitor to illegal pirate sites. However, it has been revealed that the company uses data from pirate sites in order to influence what content it offers. The more popular a movie or TV show is with illegal downloaders in a particular country, the more likely they are to try and acquire the rights to stream it on Netflix. The CEO has even gone on record saying that pirate sites help drive demand for Netflix content.
