Although this may sound too good to be true, Netflix has offered its workers unlimited vacation since 2002. CEO Reed Hastings decided to "skip the accounting rigmarole" and handle vacation informally, relying on employees to make sure their time off does not negatively impact the company. As long as their work doesnt suffer, employees are free to as much time off as they like. Providing they arrange it in advance and dont just swan off whenever they like, of course. If this sounds familiar, its because Sir Richard Branson notably took inspiration from the company and decided to offer the same policy to Virgin employees. In fact, its not as uncommon as you may think. Its been reported that as many as 1 in 100 American companies have an unlimited vacation policy.
