10 Things You Won’t Believe Were Cut From Spider-Man Movies

9. Venom In The Mirror (Spider-Man 3)

Sam Raimi evoked his horror roots in this deleted scene from Spider-Man 3, hitting the audience with a jump scare as an image of Venom dramatically appears in Peter Parker's mirror, shortly after he's discovered his black costume.

Most Venom fans were aggrieved with the way the character was depicted in the movie, and with good reason. Here, they can catch a glimpse at an alternate design for the symbiotic villain, and it isn't much of an improvement.

In a departure from the comics, Venom's teeth aren't as sharp as they should be and the lashing tongue is absent. Nevertheless, the scene is unsettling and would have served as a neat piece of foreshadowing for the dark times Peter later experiences.

Ramping up Spider-Man 3's horror elements with more scenes like this wouldn't have hurt the movie. If nothing else, it would have made the threequel more atmospheric and differentiated it from the previous chapters.
