7. Angry Birds
What Is It?: An inexplicably popular, absurdly addictive video game series about a gang of wingless birds who, as a result, are pretty damn p*ssed off.
And It's Weird Because...?: The Angry Birds video game completely confesses that it's built for short attention spans; it's a game designed to appease us for those brief moments while we're waiting for a train to arrive, or have nothing better to do. To transform this into an idea for a 90-minute movie, then, seems a bit, well, crazy. Given that the game's narrative is limited to lobbing birds at wooden structures, how this can be convincingly turned into a compelling feature length story is anyone's idea. While the Angry Birds marketing hype might be at an all-time high, hopefully it will die down long before the projected 2016 release date, and this will end up being one crappy idea we'll readily laugh about.
