6. Vin Diesel And Justin Lin - Fast X
The most recent spat on this list, Justin Lin’s decision to walk away from the upcoming instalment in the Fast and Furious franchise stems from a number of reasons, chief among them Vin Diesel’s increasing creative control over the films.
Seeing that the film is currently in production and won’t come out until May 2023, it is (as of the writing of this article) unclear as to what specific story beats Lin and Diesel fell out on beyond numerous script changes that came uncomfortably close to filming.
It was even noted that in previous films, Lin was forced to add in inexplicable scenes to justify the presence of action set pieces. Not long after leaving the film, Lin was replaced by Louis Leterrier of The Incredible Hulk and Clash of the Titans fame.
What is currently known about this unexpected development in Fast 10's filming suggests that the director had his fill of a star's inexplicable narrative demands and a studio unwilling to do anything that would anger him, even if it its actions would have benefitted everyone involved.
