10 Times Batman Acted Like A Horror Movie Villain

6. "I'm Batman" - Batman Begins

When Nolan revived the Batman franchise after Batman and Robin put it on ice, he took pains to make it as grounded as possible to avoid the campy excesses of Joel Schumacher's take. One strategy Nolan employed was explaining how Batman consciously employs fear to mentally break the criminals he hunts before a single punch is thrown.

In the film, Bruce utilizes numerous ninja techniques learned from the League of Shadows to seemingly disappear and reappear like a phantom, making him appear like an otherworldly being to his prey.

There's a lot of build up to the moment when Bruce finally puts all of his training and techniques together to take to the streets as Batman, and when he does, it's straight up like a horror movie.

When the Caped Crusader hits the docks to bust up a smuggling operation, Nolan shoots the scene from the perspective of the criminals as Batman picks them off one by one. This is probably one of the clearest examples of just how terrifying Batman would be to the criminals he hunts, as he acts exactly like a horror movie monster that uses the divide and conquer strategy to take out his foes.
