10 Times Comic Book Movies Made Us Cry

2. This is What It Feels Like - Logan

In the grand scheme of superhero movies, Logan feels like the most worn-in. After playing the character for well over a decade, Hugh Jackman's approach to the clawed superhero feels like it was ripped straight out of the Western movies of days gone by. Then again, Westerns don't really pride themselves on their happy endings.

Looking to get his daughter Laura to a safe place, Logan is thwarted by a more agile clone of himself, who takes his toll on him and ends up killing Charles Xavier in the process. As Logan continues to transport his daughter across the Canadian border, he makes one last stand against his clone before Laura shoots it with an adamantium bullet. Even though she may have saved her father from being slashed to pieces, it's too little too late, as Logan becomes impaled by a tree.

After years of being indestructible, Logan spends his last few moments holding his daughter's hand as he dies, fulfilling the vision from 2015's The Wolverine of dying with his heart in his hand. By the time we hear Logan quietly whisper "this is what it feels like," one of the most brilliant performances in superhero history is silenced, with all of the light leaving his eyes.
