10 Times Doctor Who Appeared In Movies

9. Looney Tunes: Back In Action

Right before Russell T Davies and Robert Shearman brilliantly reintroduced the Daleks in the 2005 revival, they appeared on the Hollywood stage in the 2003 live-action/animation hybrid Looney Tunes: Back In Action.

Appearing during a scene where Marvin the Martian unleashes a group of "illegal aliens" that are being held in Area 52, the Daleks scream their signature catchphrase while attempting to obliterate Bugs and the gang.

These Dalek props are actually the same ones used in the 1960s Peter Cushing Dr. Who movies, which is why they look authentic, but also oddly outdated compared to their surroundings.

According to an online rumour, it was actor Steve Martin (who plays the movie's villain) who insisted that the Daleks appear in this scene, due to being a massive Whovian. Definitely take that with a pinch of salt though.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
