3. An Accidental Crime Confession - All Good Things

All Good Things
Magnolia Pictures

All Good Things is a film that is based around the life of Robert Durst, who was the suspect in an as-of-then acquitted murder case. Durst had been imprisoned until 2005 for confessing to tampering with police evidence related to his court case, having chopped up a man he supposedly accidentally killed in order to prevent his own criminal charges.

Despite all this, when All Good Things came out in 2010, Robert was delighted, and offered to give commentary on the DVD. That's right, a man involved in a murder case that had been acquitted due to a lack of evidence decided to publicly talk at length about it.

This would go somehow without much thought, until another piece of media was made about Durst - this time a HBO documentary named The Jinx. Durst would also agree to be interviewed for this show, only he would ultimately forget he was wearing a mic and then discuss the murders he had done to himself in the bathroom.

He'd be immediately arrested, having managed to pull off an accidental confession that you'd call unbelievable if you saw it in a film. His commentary in All Good Things would be used as evidence against him - which is currently still ongoing as of today.
