10 Times “Good” Characters Gave Being Evil A Try

8. Walter White

Jason Todd Red Hood
AMC

If there’s one thing Breaking Bad taught the world, it’s that a good guy can go bad and make it work. When the series began, Walter White was a meek guy who taught high school chemistry. When he learns he has late-stage lung cancer, he decides to do something about it so his family will be taken care of when he is out of the picture... rather nice, isn't it?

Unfortunately, he doesn't head to the supermarket to buy a bunch of scratchers like most people and instead, he decides to try cooking meth seeing as he has the knowledge and wherewithal to do it better than anyone else around.

White starts calling himself "Heisenberg" and his character transition gets dark fast. Murder, robbery, and general mayhem follow his chaotic fall from grace as his true nature reveals him to be an evil man who will do anything to achieve his goals... unfortunately, those goals shift as he becomes criminally successful.

The entire series run of Breaking Bad is about White's transition from a run-of-the-mill good guy into a truly evil one. By the end of the series, he not only failed to redeem himself, he made no effort to do so.
