10 Times James Bond Movie Franchise Went Too Far
7. Jumping Into And Flying A Crashing Plane - GoldenEye
Criticising James Bond for being unrealistic is like complaining water is wet. Each film is an action-packed blockbuster where one guy kills hundreds of criminals, topples entire organisations, and saves the world. It's not supposed to be realistic.
On the other hand, it has to be a teeny-weeny bit believable. GoldenEye begins with James Bond and his ally, Alec Trevelyan, infiltrating and blowing up a Soviet chemical facility. As Colonel Ourumov's men shoot him, Bond tries to escape in a mini-aircraft.
Now, if this was any other action movie, the hero would fly to safety at this point. But Bond has to always go the extra mile. After being pushed out of the plane, the vehicle tumbles off the mountain, giving 007 no way of escaping.
Or so it seems. Bond suddenly jumps off the cliff, catches up with the plane, takes control of the vehicle seconds before it's about to crash, and flies away.
Goldeneye is one of the best Bonds (and the video game adaptation can't get enough credit), but this has to be one of the most farfetched moments in the series.
