It's fair to say that Roger Moore's first outing as Bond has not aged particularly well, in particular with its undercurrent of Racism throughout. While there is a pretty decent boat chase scene and the title track is awesome, the weak script is there to see.

This is evidenced through the bizarre 'Crocodile scene', where agent 007 is given the most outrageous way to die. Bond is captured by the primary villain, Dr Kananga, but is not killed despite our antagonist taking out no less than four British agents before this moment to keep his plans alive. Instead Kananga hands Bond to his counterparts, who leave him to be eaten by crocodiles, rather than just killing him first and then feeding him to their reptile friends.

Bond manages to escape in a truly remarkable sequence where he hops across the bodies of the crocs before escaping in a boat conveniently parked nearby. While Dr Kananga could place some of the blame on his counterparts for their convoluted execution manner, he really has only himself to blame for not taking care of the matter himself.
