10 Times Marvel Movies Made Powerful Characters Look Like Total Fools

2. Ultron (The Super Computer) Doesn't Know Words

Age Of Ultron

It might have been a nice quirk to have so MUCH of James Spader in Ultron's performance, but in adding so many idiosyncracies and oddities, Age Of Ultron created a villain who was a contradiction in terms. And it all boils down to that one stupid moment when the super-robot forgets the word for "child".

Whether he's a super-intelligent being with the entire power of the Internet or not, at his most basic level Ultron is a reflection of Tony Stark. He should be fully formed (unlike the more naive, less poisoned Vision), and yet he doesn't even have Stark's awareness of simple words like "child". It's ridiculous and distracting and it has a horribly diminishing effect on Ultron's mythos.

For the sake of a disposable laugh, the effect is near unforgivable.
