10 Times MCU Characters Seriously Messed Up

Even in the first few moments of Infinity War, big mistakes were made by our heroes that gave Thanos the chance of winning. Thor's brother Loki has filled the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his own selfishness in tricks and pranks, and was no exception in this epic first part finale.

After Thor: Ragnarok caused their own home planet Asgard to be destroyed, many thought Loki had changed for the better as he too drove off in space with a new found team and a planet worth of citizens to protect. Unfortunately for them, Thanos' ship was nearby and the opening of Infinity War saw Thanos entering the ship and killing half of the planet's people in the process of retrieving the Space Stone that Thor assumed was destroyed.

Alas, the God of Mischief had other plans to benefit himself yet again, revealing the stone and handing it over to Thanos to gain his trust. The trickster attempts one last move, trying to stab the Mad Titan to retrieve the stones for himself, in turn causing his own death.

If Loki had left the stone on Asgard then it would have been destroyed, and this could have saved himself and half our heroes from extinction.
