10 Times Pranks Between Movie Co-Stars Went Too Far

7. Benedict Cumberbatch Was Fooled Into Covering Himself In "Neutron Cream"

Benedict Cumberbatch has played some of the most brilliantly minded people in cinema. He wowed us all as Sherlock Holmes, dazzled us as Dr. Strange and wonderfully depicted the genius of Alan Turing. Which makes it all the more surprising that he would be so gullible as to fall for this Simon Pegg prank.

Notorious for being involved with pranks, Pegg managed to stage an elaborate con involving the entire make up team on the set of Star Trek: Into Darkness. In a true testament to his acting skills, Pegg managed to convince some of the core cast of The Enterprise that the set's lasers were leaking harmful electrical waves and, in order to keep safe, they all had to cover their faces with a special Neutron Cream. Although not all the cast were fooled, Benedict Cumberbatch was the most rattled by the news and, with his make-up team being in on the secret, would douse himself in the fake cream every day.

What started as a simple prank went too far in the end, though, as the whole Neuron Cream debacle messed up the filming process. The set builders had to check the electronics and the make up team had to frequently touch up Cumberbatch's creamy face.
