5. Tom Cruise Tried To Boil Simon Pegg Alive
Tom Cruise is a very serious actor and goes through tremendous fitness regimes and strict diets to ensure he is able to perform his own stunts safely. Considering his strict dedication to his craft, it was surprising to hear that he himself is no stranger to pranks and, on the set of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, he pulled a brilliantly cruel one on co-star Simon Pegg.
Whilst filming a high speed car chase scene in Morocco, Pegg and Cruise were stuck in a car together for hours on end. Cruise, being the best stunt driver on set, did the driving himself with Pegg stuck in the passenger seat. The shot was understandably uncomfortable, considering the weather, but Pegg realised that Cruise was surprisingly less sweaty and dehydrated than him.
It was only after the second day of shooting that Pegg realised, whilst they were filming their chase scenes together, Cruise had turned Pegg's in-built heat seaters on whenever they were in the car. As hilarious as this prank is, it may have gone too far when Pegg started to feel like he was unable to continue in the unbearable heat. He's a pasty boy from Gloucester, for goodness sake!
