Paul Bettany must have been over the moon when he found out he'd finally be joining his co-stars on set in Avengers: Age of Ultron, after years of voicing Tony Stark's A.I. J.A.R.V.I.S.

Bringing the character of Vision to life required a fair amount of work, however, and the actor quickly realised it wasn't all fun and games being physically part of an MCU movie.

Early on, Bettany admitted he didn't think the process of spending over three hours having Vision's prosthetics applied was all that bad. Yet, a few days into shooting he realised this was going to require some serious mental toughness. He told Business Insider:

'The first day was okay, and it wasn't even the second day really, but the third day in a row and the fourth and the fifth day was... you had to really get kind of Zen about it, and meditate on the line of 1,000 actors behind you that would like to be in your position, you know?'

Despite acknowledging the fact that many would give anything to be in the situation he found himself in, Bettany claimed the experience was 'quite isolating' and he couldn't hear very well once fully in Vision-mode.

It can't have been too traumatic for the actor, though, as he happily agreed to appear in a WandaVision Disney+ series - after seemingly dying for good in Infinity War - where he no doubt had to go through the same frustrating experience quite a few more times to get the job done.
