You can imagine how excited Oscar Isaac must have been when he found out he'd be playing the big bad in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Not only had the franchise just produced arguably its greatest film yet in Days of Future Past, but he'd now also get the chance to share a set with some of the finest actors of his generation in Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy.

Only, once he realised what he'd actually signed up for, that excitement quickly evaporated.

Isaac found himself encased in glue and latex for the majority of his time in the movie, whilst also carrying round a 40-pound suit for the finished look. This mix of prosthetics and armour meant that he couldn't really move his head at all.

Speaking to GQ about the experience, the actor revealed:

'I was like, ‘Oh, I get to work with these great actors that I like so much,’ but I couldn’t even see them because I couldn’t move my head.'

It wasn't any easier for the Star Wars star when it came time to peel off the skin of Apocalypse either, as it would take hours and hours of scraping to get rid of the prosthetics.
