10 Times The MCU Betrayed Your Trust

The beginning of Infinity War immediately showcased the might of Thanos, and the threat he posed to the Avengers. He manhandled Thor, killed Heimdall and Loki, and destroyed the Hulk without using a single Infinity Stone.

Banner was sent to Earth with Heimdall's last action to warn Doctor Strange, and when the Black Order followed him, the Other Guy refused to show his big green face. This was a theme throughout the entire movie, to the point that Banner had to use Tony’s Hulkbuster armour in Wakanda, and in the Garden in Endgame.

This was a scenario that was screaming out for a rematch, and fans were almost certain it was coming in Endgame, but no. Instead, the Hulk was no longer the raging brute he had been since 2008, as Banner put the brains and the brawn together to make Professor Hulk.

This let a lot of fans down immediately, as it is easily the worst version of the character so far, and there was no further interaction between him and Thanos. He ultimately brought everybody back, but there was still no second round, even in spite of Hulk calling out and acknowledging the fact that he lost to Thanos twice before.
