10 Times There Were Fistfights On Movie Sets
4. Tony Bellew Vs. A Cornerman
This well-received 2015 film Creed is the seventh instalment in the Rocky series, although technically it is also a spin-off. Utilising the backstory and characters from Rocky, Creed centres around the illegitimate son of Apollo Creed and his journey to stardom and success, under the mentorship of his father's former foe-turned-ally Rocky Balboa.
Stallone reprises his role here while Michael B. Jordan plays Adonis Creed, with the climactic fight seeing Adonis going up against "Pretty" Ricky Conlan- the current champion, played by Tony Bellew.
Bellew is a very legitimate and serious boxer who holds wins over David Haye and was WBC Cruiserweight Champion for a year. Retiring from boxing in 2018 with a professional record of 30 wins and 3 losses, his Creed role did come with an alleged incident for Bellew, however.
During filming, there was an altercation with a cornerman at some point which the studio say was broken up before it got physical. Stallone himself, into his 70s at the time, says that he helped pulled the men apart.
Other reports say that there were punches thrown, but, given Bellew's pedigree, it's hard to imagine him risking his career over an argument. Or the other man surviving a punch.
