5. Tricking A Virgin Into Sex - Live And Let Die
Live And Let Die sees another b*stard move from Bond when he seduces Kanangas young psychic Solitaire. Her power comes from her purity (aka her virginity) and Bond wants to rob Kananga of her abilities. He asks her to read his fortune and she turns over three Lovers tarot cards in a row, leading them to sleep together. She doesnt realise Bond had replaced every card with a Lovers card. The poor girl is clearly distraught afterwards and fearful for her life. Bond gives her no comfort at all and soon gets up to leave. Given that this is seventies era Bond, though, Solitaire asks him to come back to bed with her, which isnt the finest moment of feminism in the series. So not only did Bond trick her into sex he also went to incredibly elaborate lengths to do it. He would have had to buy at least fifty sets of tarot cards to pull off his trick which, if nothing else, shows his dedication to the bit.
