10 Tiny Annoying Details In Movies You Can't Unsee
2. Simba's Changing Eyes - The Lion King
It seems that not even animated films are capable of ninety minutes of consistency.
One of the greatest ever films to emerge from Disney, The Lion King is a tragic and beautiful tale of love and loss, redemption and responsibility, and somewhat delicious-looking bugs. Released in 1994, The Lion King's animation and voice-acting still hold up today, with the most watched content on Disney's streaming platform, Disney+, being their classic films.
With more than six-hundred artists and animators contributing to The Lion King, it is quite perplexing that any minor inconsistencies could creep into a film of this scale. Throughout the eighty-eight minute run-time, the keen-eyed viewers noticed that Simba and Nala's eyes would quite frequently change colour.
While Nala's irises constantly change from blue to green, it's actually Simba's corneas that change. Initially changed to accommodate for the day and night cycle in the film (white during the day and yellow at night). Following Simba's stargazing scene with Timon and Pumbaa, his eyes constantly flick from white to yellow and back again, occasionally changing as rapidly as frame to frame.
Despite this, The Lion King is still a masterpiece. Now lets just pretend that the live-action adaptation ever happened.
