10 Tiny Horror Movie Details That Give Away Character Secrets
6. Holster Struggles - Shutter Island
Speaking of films with famous plot twists, we present Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island from 2010.
Now, you're probably expecting us to talk about Leonardo DiCaprio's character Teddy Daniels, who is actually the mental patient Andrew Laeddis masquerading as a US Marshal.
The signs that "Teddy" is not who he seems to be are everywhere in the film. The guards at the mental hospital grip their guns tighter when they see him, Teddy refuses to look at his own medical documents, and his dreams of his wife Dolores all point to the revelation that he is the escaped patient that he is trying to hunt down.
But we're not talking about Teddy today. Instead, let's talk about Chuck.
Chuck, played by Mark Ruffalo, is actually Dr. Lester Sheehan, Andrew's psychiatrist. He is pretending to be the fictional Teddy's partner as part of a roleplaying experiment on his patient.
A huge clue to this comes when Dr. Sheehan fumbles with his gun during the opening of the film. Supposedly an experienced agent, Chuck can't even draw his weapon without looking like a total doofus.
Why? Because he isn't a real agent.
Mind = blown.
