It's starting to become clear that there are common themes between Matt Damon's cameos in other films. Most of them are in films from other Ocean's Trilogy stars. In many of them he plays a romantic interest of the romantic interest of the main character. And in this one, as with Entourage, he ends his cameo with his strange, high-pitched crying.

In this film he plays the ex-boyfriend of Denise Richards' character, who is on a date with her co-worker. He turns up to berate the poor woman for a few minutes, before being interrupted by a homeless man and breaking down on his shoulder.

This is one of Damon's earliest cameos - he hadn't even been Bourne at this point in his career. Ben Affleck also has a role in the film though, which is likely why Damon has his cameo.
