10 Toho Kaiju Who Need To Appear In The MonsterVerse After Godzilla Vs. Kong

Gigan is a large alien cyborg kaiju that first appeared in the 1972 film Godzilla vs. Gigan. He reappeared in 1973’s Godzilla vs. Megalon and 2004’s Godzilla: Final Wars. While the Gigan seen in the Shōwa era was the same kaiju, it is unknown if the iteration from Godzilla: Final Wars is the same. The Millennium version of Gigan was nearly twice the size of his Shōwa era counterpart.

The original Gigan was sent to earth by the aliens from the M Space Hunter Nebula. In his debut, he is sent with King Ghidorah to aid the invasion of earth by the aliens; however he is thwarted by the tag-team of Godzilla and Anguirus. In Godzilla vs. Megalon, he is sent by the M Space Hunter Nebula aliens once again to aid a civilization known as the Seatopians, who have sent their own kaiju, Megalon, to attack the people of earth. The Gigan in Godzilla: Final Wars was under to control of the Xiliens, however he is ultimately defeated by Mothra during the final battle.

Gigan has long been a popular addition to the Toho Godzilla franchise. His unique cyborg abilities make him stand out, such as his arm blades and the buzz saw in his chest. Extraterritorial titans have already been seen in the MonsterVerse, in the form of King Ghidorah, so the introduction of an alien cyborg kaiju is within the realm of possibilities for the franchises future.
