2. Mr. Pink - Reservoir Dogs
There's a certain irony in the fact that Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi) is almost definitely the most inept member of the gang in Reservoir Dogs, yet is the only one to emerge both alive and free. Arguably Buscemi's best role, he makes Mr. Pink completely his own, signature character, whinging about his being assigned the name Mr. Pink, and riffing on his no-tipping policy, much to the disgust of most of those around him. Similarly, during action beats, Pink proves no less hilarious, getting hit by a car when on the run and genuinely just being a klutz in true Tarantino fashion. That said, while the ending is deliberately ambiguous, there's at least a solid chance that Pink made it out unscathed, having not been wounded on screen nor arrested by the cops. That dramatic irony is no doubt an intentional flourish from a master storyteller such as Tarantino.
