3. Peter, Michael & Samir - Office Space
We can all empathise with Peter, Michael and Samir's plight in Office Space; who wants to whittle away 8 hours of their life a day on TPS reports for Lumbergh? When Peter discovers that his two buddies are going to be fired while he gets a promotion, the three cobble together a plan to rip their company, IniTech, off for a vast sum of money by copying a scheme from Superman III, whereby their steal the remaindered cents in financial transactions and dump them in a dummy account. With the millennium bug-proofing going on in the office, who's going to notice? It all goes to pot very quickly, though; the program Michael uploads steals too much money too quickly, such that they quickly realise they either need to launder the money (a word they end up looking up in the dictionary), or somehow give the cash back. In the end, their hides are saved by perennially disgruntled employee Milton, who burns the building down as he famously promises earlier on in the film. Lesson learned, they all just about get away with it.
