6. T-Bone - Colors
Colors is a movie starring Robert Duvall and Sean Penn as two cops working South Central L.A, and the stuff that happens to them whilst they're doing that. It's a pretty good movie with some great performances (directed by Dennis Hopper, don't you know?), but it's not without its random moment of unnecessary nonsense, either - one which has always struck me as odd and unnecessary, even if I only recently remembered how bizarre it is. This scene happens away from the central plot and main characters entirely - Duvall and Penn aren't even featured. The film randomly cuts to two different cops who approach an insane man named "T-Bone" in a store where we presume he's causing trouble. He's wearing a diaper and a shower cap and has a large rabbit soft toy on his head (I'm not making this up - look at the picture!). They handcuff him when he starts acting crazy, he asks for his rabbit, and that's it. That's the whole scene. And we never catch up with these characters or the associated events again. It's just that and only that. As for its purpose, your guess is as good as mine.
