7. The Goonies 2

The Goonies 2 is always being "discussed" in Hollywood, apparently, but everything always turns out to be nothing more than speculation and rumour. A lot of people are against this movie happening, of course, given how intimately it ties in with their childhoods... but wouldn't it be fun to see a movie about the adult versions of all those beloved characters? As an exercise in pure nostalgic entertainment, The Goonies 2 would be near-on unrivalled. After all, a lot of the actors have dropped off the face of the Earth since. The plot could very easily concern something along the lines of the kids coming together at a reunion of sorts, only to find themselves caught up in a revenge plot courtesy of... you guessed it: the Fratelli Brothers. Sure, it's not the greatest plot ever conceived, but it could easily pave the way for a sequel that works on its own terms whilst playing to the strengths of the first. The world don't need The Goonies 2, but that sure as hell doesn't mean that folk would flock in their millions to see it play out on the big screen. Sequel or no sequel, either way works. Likelihood? Who knows? Most of the original cast have expressed their interest, whilst the movie seems to change from "in development" to "not in development" depending on the day.
