10 Totally Unnecessary Movie Sequels That Everybody Wants Anyway

3. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut 2

The first and - to date - only South Park movie, "Bigger, Longer & Uncut," emerged not only as a triumph with regards to the awesome TV show on which it was spun from, but as (and this is not said with any hyperbole) one of the greatest animated movies ever made. Seriously. Compared to other "TV show to movie" attempts, at least, Trey Parker and Matt Stone's intelligent, satirical and downright hilarious meta-movie is a work of unrivalled genius. At the time of its release, then, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut set out to target everything and anything deemed culturally sensitive at the time - and did so with a kind of candid wit and irony that made it both offensive and endearing all at once. With the state of the world as it is now, cinema really needs another South Park movie; there's so much awfulness to tear apart. The genius of the movie, of course, stemmed from the way that it took a number of political and social themes - war, censorship and religion were the big ones - and carved out a story that felt deserving of its own 90 minute motion picture. Yes, South Park is still on TV now and fans are getting their fill, but another movie version - at any time - would be welcomed with open arms. That said, a Team America: World Police sequel would also be massively appreciated right about now; given the questionable nature of today's wars, there's arguably no better time. Likelihood? Never say never, but - as of now - there are no plans for further South Park or Team America movies. Bah.
