All The Boys Love Mandy Lane is a difficult movie to talk about because part of what's intriguing about the plot has to do with the last act. Without knowing where it's going, it all seems standard, but it's the explanation of what you've really been seeing that makes it worthwhile. The movie follows Mandy Lane, the classic "hot girl at school" archetype who receives attention from all of her peers. It's to the point where in the opening of the film, two guys trying to impress Mandy results in a death. Later, Mandy and her friends go to a party at a ranch, but soon they all start getting picked off by a hooded figure. The setup is that of a run-of-the-mill slasher where the lead is a generic hot girl, but then the last act reveals that Mandy is a complete psychopath. Her best friend, Emmit, has been doing all the killing, but he was manipulated by Mandy, who basically treats her friends like puppets and gets them to do her bidding. She's the most terrifying kind of horror villain: one who you'll never suspect, who never has to get her hands dirty, and who gets away with it all.
